Agratas Battery Gigafactory

Agratas is building a battery-cell factory at the Gravity campus near Bridgwater, Somerset. The plant is intended to supply electric-vehicle batteries, initially for Jaguar Land Rover.[1][2]

Current position

Agratas reported in September 2026 that Building One was nearly watertight and approaching internal fit-out. The council’s September programme forecast 2,500–2,900 construction workers from that autumn, with revised workforce accommodation, travel and construction transport plans required to be agreed and active before the increase.

Benefits

  • The first factory building is supported by a central utilities building supplying power and data. Agratas’ July update reported completed steelwork for the utilities building, cladding work on both buildings and installation of roof drainage.
