Auchteraw is Field’s grid-scale battery near Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands.[1]
Current position
Field’s March 2026 update confirms that Auchteraw began commercial operation in summer 2025.
Benefits
- The battery has 50 MW of power capacity and stores 100 MWh of energy, allowing it to charge and discharge in response to grid demand.
