Bicker Fen 1.2 GW BESS

Bicker Fen 1 and 2 form a planned battery-storage development beside the Bicker Fen 400 kV substation.[1]

Current position

Boston Borough Council granted full planning permission for the Bicker Drove battery development on 29 June 2026, under application B/25/0224. Bicker Drove is Fidra Energy’s subsidiary for the Bicker Fen project.

An expected combined 1.2 GW / 2.4 GWh of storage, according to Fidra Energy.
