East Anglia THREE Offshore Wind Farm

East Anglia THREE is ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar’s 1.4 GW offshore wind project, about 69 km off Suffolk. Power will reach the National Grid through subsea export cables, a landfall at Bawdsey and an underground cable route to a converter station at Bramford.[1][2]

Current position

ScottishPower reported all 95 foundations and transition pieces installed on 17 August 2026, with turbine installation continuing and full operation targeted by the end of 2026. The current onshore works update records completed buildings at Bramford, electrical commissioning under way and all high-voltage cable sections installed and connected.

Benefits

  • The project’s 95 turbines will supply renewable electricity to the UK grid. The onshore route uses ducting laid for East Anglia ONE, carrying cables around 37 km from the coast to Bramford.
