Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2)
Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) is a 2 GW HVDC connection between Peterhead in Aberdeenshire and Drax in North Yorkshire. It is shown as an approximate point at the Peterhead end; the full cable route is not yet mapped.[1][2]
Benefits
- The full 505 km connection is intended to move electricity between Scotland and England and increase transmission capacity for generation including offshore wind.
