Glenside Farm battery storage

Glenside Farm is an approved 400-megawatt battery storage project at Plean, near Stirling. Scottish Government consent was granted in February 2025. The batteries would store electricity from the network for later use, with an opening date still to be confirmed.[1][2]

Benefits

  • The facility would help balance supply and demand by holding electricity when generation is plentiful and releasing it when it is needed.
