EDF reported completion of the620-metre fish-return tunnel and removal of its boring machine. The fish-protection system and nuclear power station remain under construction.
EDF is constructing two UK EPR reactors in Somerset. Together they are designed to produce 3,260 MW, with an intended operating life of 60 years. Construction includes the nuclear island, turbine buildings and marine cooling infrastructure; the photographs of an individual reactor building show only one part of that larger undertaking.

EDF has finished digging the 620-metre tunnel beneath the Bristol Channel for Hinkley Point C’s fish-return system and retrieved the boring machine. This is a completed tunnelling phase of the nuclear project; it does not mean the fish-protection system or power station is operating.
