Kent Marshes Wetland Restoration Project
A wetland restoration project in Kent intended to protect threatened birds.[1][2]
Current position
The Hoo Peninsula was also included in the wider RSPB coastal and wetland programme, which ended in February 2026. Earlier plans identified water-management works at Cooling Marshes, St Mary’s Marsh and Stoke Marshes. Completion of every individual installation has not been separately confirmed.
Benefits
- Restored wetland habitat for birds including lapwing and redshank; no reliable project-specific area or outcome figures have been established.
