Luton Airport’s expansion proposes improvements to the existing terminal followed by a second terminal, without an additional runway.[1][2]
Luton Rising appointed a joint Mace Consult and Arcadis team to establish the integrated delivery plan, programme controls and commercial framework for the phased expansion.
The 2025 development consent order allows Luton Airport to expand to a maximum of 32 million passengers a year. The scheme adds a second terminal, taxiways, support buildings and changes to surface access, while continuing to use the existing runway. The additional capacity will be delivered through subsequent construction phases.
