Noriker Blackhillock / Gibston Farm battery storage

Noriker’s Blackhillock project is an approved 349-megawatt battery storage facility at Gibston Farm, near Keith in Moray. It would store electricity for use at a later time and add storage capacity in north-east Scotland. Scottish Government consent was granted in December 2025; an opening date has not been confirmed.[1]

Benefits

  • The batteries would help balance electricity supply and demand by charging when power is available and discharging when the network needs it.
