Haul-road and grid-connection works have begun at the 152.4 MW South Derbyshire solar scheme. Main solar installation is still to follow; the project includes a planned 37.5 MW battery.

Oaklands Farm Solar Park is a 152.4 MW solar development in South Derbyshire with a planned 37.5 MW co-located battery.[1][2]
Current position
Site preparation is under way at Oaklands Farm Solar Park. BayWa expects the solar farm to become operational by the end of 2027 or early 2028; main installation remains a later construction phase.
Benefits
- The solar farm would supply renewable electricity through the existing Drakelow grid connection.
