Revera Kincardine Grid Services Complex

Revera plans a battery storage facility at Kincardine, north of the River Forth in Fife. Its current design would supply up to 400 megawatts of power, within the larger capacity permitted by the original 2022 consent. The project would connect to the nearby Kincardine substation and remains at the approved stage.[1][2]

Benefits

  • The planned batteries would store enough electricity to provide their full output for around two hours. Revera intends the project to help the network accommodate more offshore wind generation.
