Production Base 1 in South Bermondsey, London, brings Rivan’s research, assembly and testing of modular synthetic natural gas plants into one factory.[1]
Current position
Rivan announced the opening on 5 October 2026 and was recruiting manufacturing staff for the production ramp-up. It expects the first systems to leave the assembly line in early 2027.
Factory and production
The 60,000 sq ft facility includes about 25,000 sq ft of research space, with electronics and wet laboratories, testing areas and a machine shop.
At full production, the factory is designed to manufacture systems with a combined capacity of up to 50 MW each year. Those systems produce synthetic natural gas at their deployment sites.
Rivan has opened Production Base 1, a 60,000 sq ft South London factory for manufacturing modular synthetic natural gas (SNG) systems. It is designed to support production of up to 50 MW of system capacity a year at full ramp. The factory makes the equipment; SNG is produced at deployment sites.
