East Claydon Battery Storage

Statera’s consented 500 MW battery-storage project at Rookery Farm, Granborough, near East Claydon substation. The marker uses the published site grid reference from the project’s June 2025 ecology report; it identifies the site rather than a surveyed battery-unit position.[1][2][3]

Current position

Planning permission was granted on appeal on 11 September 2025, application 23/03875/APP. Statera currently describes the project as consented; a construction start is not confirmed.

Benefits

  • Planned storage will absorb electricity during periods of surplus generation and release it when demand increases.
