Whitehall battery storage
Whitehall is Apatura’s approved 560-megawatt battery storage project at Whitehill Estate, near Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire. It would connect to nearby electricity substations and store power for later use. The scheme received planning consent in July 2025; an opening date has not been confirmed.[1][2][3]
Benefits
- Its planned 1,120-megawatt-hour capacity would provide around two hours of supply at full output, helping the grid respond when renewable generation and demand change.
