Whitehill Energy Storage
Whitehill is ILI Group’s approved 200-megawatt battery storage project at Gartcosh, beside the M73 in North Lanarkshire. Scottish Government consent was granted in October 2024. The facility would store electricity from the network and supply it back when demand rises or generation falls.[1]
Benefits
- The project would add flexible electricity storage, helping the grid manage variations in wind and solar generation.
