Windyhill battery storage
Revera is building a battery energy storage system at Bearsden, north-west of Glasgow, close to the B6 transmission boundary.[1]
Current position
Construction began in August 2026 following financial close in February. Revera’s 23 September update gives a Q4 2027 commercial-operation forecast.
Storage and grid services
- The system is designed to deliver 200 MW of power and store 400 MWh of energy. It is intended to provide grid flexibility and help move Scottish wind generation towards electricity demand.
