Wylfa Rolls-Royce SMR Project

Wylfa on Anglesey is the selected site for an initial fleet of three Rolls-Royce small modular nuclear reactors.[1][2]

Current position

Rolls-Royce SMR and Great British Energy–Nuclear signed a delivery contract in April 2026, enabling site-specific design and early supply-chain work.

Benefits

  • The programme would add roughly 1.4 GW of nuclear generation if all three units are delivered.
