Rental income from the continuing restaurant business will support conservation. The gift secures permanent cultural and heritage preservation; the restaurant remains open under a commercial tenancy.
Rules restaurant building and historic collection gifted to the National Trust
The National Trust has received the £11 million freehold of 34–35 Maiden Lane, home to Rules since 1798, together with its historic collection.
