Sandilands Nature Reserve

The National Trust has converted a former Lincolnshire coastal golf course into a 30-hectare wetland nature reserve and opened it to the public on 26 September 2026.[1][2]

Current position

The nature reserve opened on 26 September 2026. Habitat recovery will continue after the opening.

Benefits

  • Wetlands, grassland and coastal scrub extend habitat on a coastal migration route; the project moved nearly 52,000 cubic metres of earth and planted more than 35,000 native shrubs.
