1,000-year-old Norfolk church celebrates £850,000 restoration

A Norfolk village has celebrated the restoration of its 1,000-year-old church after residents and heritage funders raised around £850,000 to save the Grade I-listed building.

St Peter's in Forncett has undergone extensive repairs to its roofs, flintwork, masonry and drainage, protecting a Saxon round tower and centuries of historic features, including carved pews and a 15th-century alabaster tomb. The restoration was completed in March, and parishioners marked the church's return with a special service on 25 October.
